Since 1998, Where's the One? founder Mat Clements has drummed his way around hundreds of school, youth and community music projects across Scotland and beyond. He is a performer and educator working mostly with world percussion - everything from Brazilian samba to African grooves, drum and bass to ceilidh-inspired Scottish jigs. He is a specialist in unusual percussion instruments such as the berimbau, pandeiro, udu, atabaque, timbales and cajon. Mat has performed in most towns and major festivals in the UK, and taken his drumming skills across Europe, the US, China, India and Australia.
Mat creates a variety of music education workshops either as taster sessions, extended programmes or courses specially designed for a particular group. He focuses on releasing creativity through group drumming using a variety of percussion instruments, teamwork and song. Mat can help you with a wide range of rhythm-based projects:
